Objective: Understand the characteristics and representation of continuous and discrete time signals. Understand the characteristics and the mathematical representation and analysis in the time and frequency domain of linear-time-invariant systems. Understand the Fourier series and transform. Understand the Laplace transform. Solve problems using Matlab.
Content: Representation and analysis of continuous and discrete time signals and systems; time and frequency analysis of linear time-invariant systems; convolution, differential and difference equations. Fourier series and Fourier transform, Laplace transform, Z-transform. Sampling, quantization, and discrete-time processing of continuous-time signals.
